Miller & Carter

Set in a listed granite building on Mosley Street, Miller & Carter say they could claim to be one of the best steakhouses in Newcastle, but they’ll let you be the judge. 30 day aged British and Irish steaks and a choice of red wines such as Pinot Noir or a full-bodied Shiraz to go with them.

Landmark Oriental Restaurant & Bar

Set in the city’s Chinatown as you might expect, you are greeted with a fabulous bar as you enter, serving world-class wines, champagnes, and beers. The restaurant is split-level so you can dine in a private booth, or if you have a large party you can use the large round banqueting tables.

Babucho

Nestled in the heart of the Quayside, this is an Italian venue in the style of a New York bar, restaurant, and brasserie. By day it’s a busy brasserie and café. By night it becomes a hip lounge bar and restaurant where you can enjoy yourself until the early hours.

The Botanist

It’s a walk up three flights of stairs to get there, but you have a fantastic view of Grey’s Monument. A wide choice of cocktails at the bar, and inventive food such as the hanging lamb kofta kebab with chilli, onion, tomatoes, and piri piri sauce, or garlic mushroom starter served on a garden trowel.
