Six reasons you should visit the Tees Valley

Spectacular countryside, a dramatic coastline, vibrant market towns and impressive historical venues, an abundance of adrenaline-fuelled activities and unique experiences make the Tees Valley the ideal location for an unforgettable break in the North East of England.

Cushioned between County Durham and North Yorkshire, each corner of the Tees Valley is a unique destination waiting to be discovered. Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland are all bursting with things to do, places to see and stories to tell. 

Examples include:

1. Get the blood pumping on the Olympic standard white-water rafting course at Tees Barrage in Stockton or jump on a jet ski at Hartlepool Marina and spot some of the local wildlife - including seals.
2. Set sail to Hartlepool and climb aboard HMS Trincomalee – Britain’s oldest historic fighting ship still afloat, based at the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Hartlepool 
3. Explore the birthplace of British explorer Captain James Cook in Middlesbrough.
4. Redcar is situated on the coast and is perfect for a long walk down it's beautiful coastal beach
5. Darlington is a beautiful small town full of great eateries, and other local businesses. It is most famous for launching the first publicly subscribed steam locomotion from Darlington to Stockton in 1825
6. Enjoy a romantic sunset walk up to Roseberry topping to see all of Tees Valley in its entirety and beauty
