The Botanist
This busy city centre bar has a great reputation for cocktails and has a range of unusual beers and ciders. Superb views over the Monument area. Music is not too loud, so you can actually have a conversation without shouting! They also serve unusual delicacies in the restaurant.
Bijoux
Cited as “the busiest little bar in Newcastle.” Internationally known DJ’s every night of the week and an exciting new menu of drinks after reopening at the end of January. The cast of MTV’s Geordie Shore all use this as their local watering hole.
Soho
No, not the one in London, the one in Newcastle. This venue has a seriously long drinks list including non-alcoholic ones. Not only that, they are all reasonably priced. Soho favourites include such delicacies as Hedgerow Sling – Bombay Sapphire gin, Gordon’s sloe gin, crème de mure blackberry liqueur, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and sugar syrup. Heaven!
Florita’s
Bare brick walls abound, as do floral prints on other walls and a collection of photos of famous people as well. This place is off the wall when it comes to cocktails! Try the Mad Hatters Tea Party for three – Absolut Raspberri, cranberry juice, peach Schnapps, fresh lime, and strawberry puree. All we can say is - WOW!
